Licensing Information for Manitoba

In Canada Emergency Health Services are regulated on a provincial or territorial basis and in most area’s you need to be licensed in order to practice i.e. before you can respond to a patient in a paid capacity.

 

In Manitoba the regulatory and licensing authority is Manitoba Health – Emergency Medical Services

 

Manitoba Health recognises and licenses the following grades of practitioner:

 

  • Medical First Responder
  • Technician (Emergency Medical Responder)
  • Technician – Paramedic (Primary Care Paramedic)
  • Technician - Advanced Paramedic (Advanced Care Paramedic)
  • Aeromedical Attendant

An Aeromedical Attendant needs to be Technician Advanced Paramedic PLUS  have CAMATA, BCLS and ACLS, BTLS or Trauma Nursing Care.
