Licensing Information for Alberta
In Canada Emergency Health Services are regulated on a provincial or territorial basis and in most area’s you need to be licensed in order to practice i.e. before you can respond to a patient in a paid capacity.
In Alberta the regulatory and licensing authority is the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP).
The Alberta College recognises and licenses the following grades of practitioner:
- Emergency Medical Responder
- Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B)
- Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (EMT-P)
